IBM 24V Powered USB to USB-B Scanner Cable

Overview

IBM 24V Powered USB to USB-B cable, compatible with the IBM Retail 24V Powered USB port used on IBM SurePOS and other IBM point-of-sale systems. The cable carries the standard USB 2.0 data pair plus the 24 V DC power pair from the IBM Powered USB receptacle to a USB-B device such as a barcode scanner, receipt printer or customer display.

Construction and Materials

One 28 AWG twisted pair for the USB 2.0 data lines (D+ / D-) individually foil-shielded, one 20 AWG pair for the 24 V DC power (V+ / GND), all wrapped in an overall foil + braid shield with drain wire. The jacket is a PVC compound. The IBM 24V Powered USB end is a latching 8-pin plug; the USB-B end is a standard USB 2.0 plug.

Compatibility and Fitment

Compatible with the IBM 24V Powered USB receptacle on IBM SurePOS and other IBM point-of-sale hardware. Not compatible with the 12V Powered USB variant. The cable is a compatible replacement and is not an OEM IBM product.
