FANUC Robot Teach Pendant Cable for R-30iB / R-30iB Plus

This fanuc teach pendant cable is wired to the A660-2007-T364 layout used on R-30iB, R-30iB Plus and RJ3iB controllers, carrying pendant power, enable, data and the emergency stop loop. Eight cores plus one pair, foil and braid shielded, in an oil-resistant PUR drag-chain jacket.

Description

Overview

A fanuc teach pendant cable is the only robot cable a human handles every shift, and the only one that carries an emergency stop loop. This one is wired to the A660-2007-T364 layout used on the R-30iB and R-30iB Plus controller family, including the RJ3iB variant: eight 24 AWG conductors plus one twisted pair for the data lines, under an overall foil plus braid shield with drain wire, in a halogen-free oil-resistant PUR jacket rated for drag-chain use. It is a compatible replacement built to your drawing, not an OEM FANUC part.

What this fanuc teach pendant cable actually carries

Four functions share this one lead, and they do not have equal weight. Pendant power and the enable circuit are plain DC. The data pair carries the serial or Ethernet link between pendant and controller. The emergency stop loop is the one that matters: it is a safety function, and a cable that opens it intermittently is worse than one that fails solid, because a solid failure stops the cell and an intermittent one does not. That is why we do not treat the E-stop conductors like the rest of the bundle – they are verified for continuity on every unit and the screen is bonded rather than pigtailed, so a broken braid shows up as a fault instead of as noise on the data pair.

FunctionConductorsWhat a fault looks like
Pendant power2 coresPendant will not boot, or reboots when the lead is moved
Enable circuit2 coresPendant powers up but will not drive the robot in teach mode
Data pair1 twisted pairScreen goes blank or freezes, comms error on the controller
Emergency stop loop2 coresCell trips to E-stop with nothing wrong on the pendant
Screen / shieldFoil + braid + drainBonded at both ends so a broken braid is a hard fault, not noise

Why the pendant lead is the first cable you replace

Everything about this cable works against it. It gets coiled and uncoiled by hand, it gets dropped on the floor, it picks up oil and coolant from whatever the cell is cutting, and it gets dragged over the edge of the controller cabinet. The failure is almost always at the pendant end strain relief, where the flex is concentrated into a few millimeters. Buying a replacement with the same short boot just buys the same failure. Ask for a longer strain-relief transition on the replacement and route the lead so it hangs from the pendant rather than bending at it.

Which controllers does the A660-2007-T364 layout cover?

R-30iB and R-30iB Plus are the mainstream targets, and the RJ3iB variant shares the layout. Confirm three things before you order: the pendant model, the controller generation, and whether the far end is a receptacle on the controller or an open lead into the cabinet with numbered ferrules. That last one decides whether you get a plug or a terminated flying lead, and it is the most common source of a wrong first article. A photo of the existing cable at both ends settles it in a minute.

Coiling and storage: how the replacement gets destroyed

More pendant leads are killed on the hook than in service. Coiling a cable the same way every time, over the same bend, puts a permanent set into one section of jacket and one section of conductors, and after a few months that section is visibly kinked. The habit that avoids it is the one nobody has time for: alternate the direction of the coil, and use a loop big enough that the cable is not bending near its minimum radius. If the pendant hangs on a bracket, make sure the lead exits downward rather than bending back on itself. None of this is exotic, but on a cell that runs three shifts it is the difference between a lead that lasts two years and one that lasts two quarters.

Typical applications for this fanuc teach pendant cable

  • Teach pendant cable replacement on R-30iB and R-30iB Plus controllers
  • Drop-in lead for the A660-2007-T364 cable set on RJ3iB
  • FANUC M-710iC and other R-30iB-controlled robot cells
  • Production cells with cable tracks and a long pendant reach
  • Spare-lead stocking for cells that cannot afford an unplanned stop

How to specify your build

  1. Controller generation – R-30iB, R-30iB Plus or RJ3iB.
  2. Pendant model, from the label on the back.
  3. Far end – controller receptacle or open lead with ferrules.
  4. Length, and whether the lead lives on a hook or on the floor.
  5. Strain relief – standard boot or extended transition.
  6. Quantity, and whether this is a sample or a production order.

Workmanship and testing

FANUC Robot Teach Pendant builds are assembled and inspected to IPC/WHMA-A-620 Class 3 criteria, with ISO 9001 as the quality system over 32 to 12 AWG work. 100% continuity and pinout are verified on each FANUC assembly before packing, and seal checking is quoted whenever an ingress rating is on the drawing.

Every production run can ship with RoHS and REACH declarations and the electrical report agreed at quotation; see certifications and material declarations. UL styles and other named approvals are built to drawing: we source to the style you specify and document it, rather than asserting a listing we do not hold. For continuous motion the stranding, lay length and jacket are built to the flex method described under high-flex drag chain harness builds, with the cycle count defined in the test scope. Custom builds and ordering

FANUC Robot Teach Pendant prototype builds start from 1 to 50 pcs and are out in 3 working days. Production is quoted from 500 pcs at 14 working days after sample approval. Your part number and labeling go on OEM and ODM FANUC shipments, and we provide material certificates and first-article reports when asked. We hold 100 sets of mold tooling in house, so a standard body needs no tooling time and a new one adds about 10 working days.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this an original FANUC pendant cable?

No. It is a compatible replacement wired to the A660-2007-T364 layout, built to your drawing.

Can you supply the controller end as an open lead?

Yes. Open leads are supplied with numbered ferrules so the cabinet end can be landed on terminals without a second connector.

How long a lead can you build?

5 m to 30 m as standard, longer on request. Tell us the reach you need rather than the straight-line distance from controller to operator.

Does the emergency stop loop get tested separately?

Continuity is verified on every conductor of every unit, and the pinout is checked against your drawing before packing.
