Assembly is where a design either survives contact with the production floor or quietly does not. Crimp height, strip length, shield termination and routing discipline are boring variables that decide field failure rates — and they are exactly the variables a trading company cannot control.
Process steps.
Material release
Cable, contacts, housings and auxiliaries confirmed against the approved specification before they reach the line.
Wire preparation
Cut to length, strip, tin, twist and terminate to the build definition.
Termination
Crimping, soldering or IDC, with crimp height verified at setup and in process.
Assembly
Routing, branching, sleeving, braid or foil shielding, labeling and securing.
Molding / potting
Overmold or potting where the design requires it.
Verification
Electrical, dimensional and visual checkpoints against the agreed test scope.
Pack & release
Labeling, packing and documentation to the agreed delivery requirement.
Workmanship standard.
Production is built to IPC/WHMA-A-620 Class 3 workmanship criteria unless your drawing specifies otherwise. Crimp height, pull force and visual acceptance are defined per project and confirmed during quotation, not discovered at final inspection.
Practical note: we state Class 3 as the workmanship criteria we build and inspect to. If your program requires a certificate of compliance issued by a certified IPC training centre, tell us at quotation and we will confirm exactly what can be supplied rather than discovering it at delivery.
