2V2 / 3W3 / 5W5 Mixed-Contact D-Sub Cable

2V2, 3W3 or 5W5 mixed-contact D-Sub cable, 50 or 75 ohm coax, metal hoods, PVC jacket, OEM length and contact count. Shielded, RG-178 or RG-316 coax.

Description

Overview

Mixed-contact D-Sub cable using the 2V2, 3W3 or 5W5 shell layout. These shells carry 2, 3 or 5 coaxial contacts in a D-Sub frame, and are used for high-frequency signal, RF and video patching in test fixtures, broadcast studios and aerospace applications. The cable is wired to the customer-specified contact count and length.

Key Specifications

Connector A 2V2, 3W3 or 5W5 male, mixed contact, metal hood
Connector B 2V2, 3W3, 5W5 or BNC breakout, per inquiry
Coaxial Impedance 50 ohm or 75 ohm, per contact
Signal Conductors Coaxial, RG-178 or RG-316 typical
Jacket PVC, black, 6 mm to 10 mm OD
Length 0.5 m to 5 m standard; OEM on request

Construction and Materials

Two, three or five 50 ohm or 75 ohm miniature coaxial lines in RG-178 or RG-316 wrapped in an overall foil + braid shield. The jacket is a PVC compound. The connector ends are mixed-contact D-Sub shells with crimp or solder coaxial contacts and metal hoods with thumbscrews for mating to a chassis receptacle.

Typical Applications

  • Test fixtures and patch panels using mixed-contact D-Sub shells
  • Broadcast studio video and audio patching
  • Aerospace and high-frequency signal breakout
  • Replacement cable for legacy 2V2, 3W3 or 5W5 chassis wiring

Compatibility and Fitment

Compatible with any 2V2, 3W3 or 5W5 receptacle of the matching shell size. The coaxial contacts are 50 ohm or 75 ohm – confirm impedance before ordering. The cable is not a digital signal carrier – use a dedicated digital cable for TMDS, USB 3.0, or Ethernet.

Custom Builds and Ordering

Shell size (2V2, 3W3 or 5W5), contact gender, contact impedance, length, jacket colour, connector hood style and pin-out are configurable. Sample 7 to 10 working days, production 15 to 20 working days.

Packaging and Shipping

Each cable individually PE-bagged and packed in a brown box. 100 pcs per export carton.

Quality and Compliance

Cable assembly continuity and hipot tested. Coaxial lines tested for 50 ohm or 75 ohm impedance. RoHS 2.0 and REACH compliance on file. Serial interface pin-outs follow <a href=”https://www.iso.org/standard/66334.html” rel=”nofollow noopener” target=”_blank”>ISO 4902</a> (RS-449) and the <a href=”https://tiaonline.org/standards/” rel=”nofollow noopener” target=”_blank”>TIA</a> electronic-industries serial interface standards where cited.
