Sealed USB-C for Equipment That Lives Outside

A standard USB-C port is unsealed in both directions: the plug does not seal against the receptacle, and the receptacle does not seal against the panel. On outdoor vision installations, EV service ports, agricultural and construction machinery, marine electronics and renewable energy cabinets, that means moisture and dust reach the contacts long before the equipment wears out. This range replaces the friction fit with a threaded or dual-screw coupling and a sealed interface, so the connector stops being the entry point for the environment.

Two Build Styles

Both styles are offered on the same bulk cable, since the choice is usually dictated by the equipment side rather than by preference.

• Plug-to-plug: a sealed cable assembly with USB-C male connectors at both ends, for connecting two devices or an enclosure to a host.
• Plug-to-panel receptacle: a USB-C male on one end and a panel-mount USB-C female on the other, letting a bulkhead pass the interface through a cabinet wall while keeping the seal line on the panel.
• Retention by threaded coupling ring or by dual screws, depending on the mating hardware.

Sealing and Shell

When mated, the interface is sealed to IP66 / IP68 depending on the coupling style and whether a cap is fitted to an unmated receptacle. The shell is a moulded, tamper-resistant housing rather than a two-piece clamp, which removes the fastener that typically loosens first on a vibrating machine. For coastal and marine work the shell finish and the contact plating are selected for salt-laden atmospheres, and salt-spray exposure testing can be specified on the order when the installation warrants it.

Ordering Notes

Standard lengths are 1, 2, 3 and 5 m. Because the sealed shell adds bulk at both ends, we confirm the panel cutout drawing and the available clearance behind the panel before release. Cable jacket, colour and print legend are configurable on production quantities, and mating caps for the panel receptacle can be supplied tethered so they are not left off after service.
