Cat6A S/FTP M12 X-Code RJ45 Cable, Screw-Lock, 26AWG PUR Jacket
An M12 x-code rj45 cable that carries all four Ethernet pairs from a sealed 8-pin X-coded port on a camera or a robot wrist to a screw-lock RJ45 jack in the cabinet. 26 AWG S/FTP conductors, PUR jacket, IP67 on the circular side when mated.
Overview
Vision cameras, robot end effectors and sensors on the line expose a sealed circular Ethernet port; the receiving end in the cabinet still presents an ordinary RJ45 jack. This M12 X-code RJ45 cable carries all four pairs across that boundary with a sealed circular half and a mechanically retained RJ45 half, so the weak point becomes the machine design rather than the connector.

Which end combination do you need?
The circular end is fixed by the device. The RJ45 end is the one with choices, and it is where installations usually go wrong when a cabinet is crowded.
| Build | Circular end | RJ45 end | Order it when |
|---|---|---|---|
| Standard | M12 X-coded male, straight overmold | Screw-lock RJ45, straight | The camera sits in open space and the cabinet has room in front of the switch port |
| Right-angle at the device | M12 X-coded male, 90-degree overmold, four clocking directions | Screw-lock RJ45, straight | The camera body sits close to a surface or next to another connector |
| Right-angle at the switch | M12 X-coded male, straight overmold | Right-angle screw-lock RJ45 | Rack depth is limited or the port is on a fully populated patch panel |
| Both ends right-angle | M12 X-coded male, 90-degree | Right-angle screw-lock RJ45 | The run is boxed in at both ends and clearance, not cost, is the constraint |
Why X-coding matters
X-coding sets the keyway so the plug will not enter A-, B- or D-coded receptacles. In the same 12 mm shell that keyway is the only thing preventing a technician from forcing a fieldbus or power connector into a 10-gigabit Ethernet port during maintenance, and it also arranges the four pairs in a way that keeps crosstalk inside the connector body low. The pinout follows IEC 61076-2-109, the industry-general specification for that coding.
Screw pitch on the RJ45 end
The RJ45 side carries captive knurled thumb screws, so there is no latch to break and no tool needed. Jack collars differ, which is why the pitch is offered in three options.
| Pitch | Typical collar | Comment |
|---|---|---|
| 25 mm | The common industrial and vision camera jack | Default unless you tell us otherwise |
| 20 mm | Compact jacks and dense patch panels | Confirm the collar on your receptacle |
| 27 mm | Receptacles with a deeper or reinforced collar | Common on ruggedized switch gear |
| Measured from your sample | Anything else | Send the receptacle drawing or a photo with a scale |
Cable construction
The bulk cable is 26AWG stranded (7 strands) S/FTP: each pair is wrapped in foil and the four pairs sit under an overall braid. Pair foils keep alien crosstalk between the four pairs low enough for 10GBASE-T over short machine-mounted runs, while the braid handles the broadband noise picked up next to servo drives and weld controls. The black PUR (TPU) jacket resists cutting oil, coolant mist and repeated abrasion against cable track, and stays flexible at the low end of the temperature range where PVC begins to stiffen.
Electrical and environmental data
- Rated 0.5 A per conductor at 48 V.
- Operating temperature range -20 deg C to +70 deg C.
- IP67 sealing at the M12 side in the mated state; the RJ45 side is IP20 and is intended to sit inside an enclosure or a panel cutout.
- M12 contacts gold plated 10 microinch; RJ45 contacts gold plated 50 microinch.
- Cat6A S/FTP construction, 26AWG stranded conductors.
Those figures are the values this build is specified to on the drawing; where your enclosure or your switch imposes different limits, the assembly is built and verified to yours.
Where it gets installed
- Gigabit and 10-gigabit vision cameras mounted on robot arms and gantries
- Robot cell junction boxes feeding a cabinet-mounted industrial switch
- Traffic and roadside enclosures where the far end of the run is not climate controlled
- Test rigs and measurement carts that are re-cabled several times a week, often with the M12 bulkhead panel connector on the cabinet wall
Typical applications for this M12 X-Code RJ45 cable
- Camera to cabinet links where only the camera side is sealed
- Replacing a two-adapter stack with one molded assembly
- Circular-to-RJ45 transitions on machines that will be hosed down, where the IP69K screw lock cable is the washdown-rated alternative
- X-coded ports both ends, which our Cat6A M12 X-code link cable covers without the RJ45 transition
Build options
Standard lengths run from 0.5 m to 20 m. Straight and right-angle M12 overmolds are both available, and the right-angle version can be ordered with the cable exiting in four different clocking directions to clear neighboring ports on a crowded camera body. Jacket color, print legend, shielding variant and the length of the RJ45 thumb screws are all configurable on production quantities.
Cat6A S/FTP M12 X-Code prototype lots start from 1 to 50 pcs and ship in 3 working days; production requires 500 pcs and runs 14 working days after sample approval. Your part number and labeling go on OEM and ODM Cat6A shipments, and material certificates and first-article reports are on offer. We hold 100 sets of mold tooling in house, so a standard body needs no tooling time and a new one adds about 10 working days.
Workmanship and testing
For Cat6A S/FTP M12 X-Code builds the line runs to IPC/WHMA-A-620 Class 3 under ISO 9001, terminating 32 to 12 AWG. continuity and pinout are tested on each Cat6A unit before it is packed, and seal checking is quoted whenever an ingress rating is on the drawing.
Every production run can ship with RoHS and REACH declarations and the electrical report agreed at quotation; see certifications and material declarations. UL styles and other named approvals are built to drawing: we source to the style you specify and document it, rather than asserting a listing we do not hold. Flex life is a construction decision made before tooling, following the conductor and jacket approach set out under continuous-flex construction and flex-life testing. Frequently Asked Questions
Can I plug an X-coded M12 into a D-coded receptacle?
No, and that is deliberate. The keyway is different so a 100 Mbit/s fieldbus port cannot be mated to a 10-gigabit Ethernet plug.
Is the RJ45 end waterproof?
No. It is IP20 and is intended to sit inside an enclosure or a panel cutout. The seal is on the M12 side.
Which thumb screw pitch do I need?
25 mm is the default and covers most industrial jacks. If the screws do not line up, measure across the collar on your receptacle and send us the figure.
Do you make it with M12 on both ends?
Yes, as a separate build. If the far end is also an X-coded port, the X-code link cable is the cleaner answer.
What is the minimum order?
