This IP68 IP69K is a food-grade stainless steel washdown cable.

Overview

M12 A-coded cable assembly built for food, beverage and pharmaceutical washdown areas. The stainless steel 316L coupling nut resists the corrosive alkaline and acidic detergents used in clean-in-place (CIP) cleaning cycles, and the connector sealing is rated to both IP68 (continuous water immersion) and IP69K (high-temperature, high-pressure jet cleaning) per ISO 20653.

Key Specifications

Construction and Materials

Stainless 316L hex coupling nut overmoulded onto an M12 A-coded 4 or 5-pin insert with gold-plated brass contacts. Inner seal is FKM or EPDM depending on detergent chemistry. Jacket is food-grade TPE or halogen-free PUR selected to be detergent-tolerant and ECOLAB-tested; cable can be supplied in white for visible contamination control or in standard black. Tested to IP69K which uses 80 deg C water at 80-100 bar from 4 directions.

Typical Applications

• Sensor and actuator wiring on meat, dairy, beverage and pharmaceutical processing lines subject to daily high-pressure washdown; conveyor and packaging equipment in wet zones; CIP/SIP-cleaned process skids; outdoor installations exposed to salt spray or aggressive cleaning agents.

Compatibility and Fitment

Mates with any IEC 61076-2-101 A-coded 4 or 5-pin M12 socket. Not compatible with B-, D-, X- or T/L-coded M12 connectors. For washdown zones the mating socket should also be specified to IP69K and use stainless hardware.

Custom Builds and Ordering

Length, connector pin count, coding and jacket material are all configurable. Common builds are listed in the attributes table above; everything else can be specified when requesting a quote. We do not publish a fixed list price because most M12 / M8 assemblies are quoted to a specific build. Lead time depends on length and connector tooling.

Packaging and Shipping

Each cable is individually bagged and labeled with coding, length and lot. Bulk packaging is used for OEM volume orders. Shipments leave our facility within the lead time confirmed on the order acknowledgement.

Quality and Compliance

This product family is designed around the connector codings listed above. The IEC standards referenced (IEC 61076-2-101, IEC 61076-2-109, IEC 61076-2-111, IEC 63171-7, ISO 20653 for IP69K) define the mechanical keying, electrical ratings and sealing performance. Compliance verification (UL, CE, RoHS, REACH) is documented per build on request.
