Overview

M12 A-code Y-splitter cable branching one M12 4-pin male trunk into two M12 4-pin female branches. A-code M12 is the standard sensor / actuator keying defined by IEC 61076-2-101 and is used for low-voltage DC signal and 24 V DC sensor power. Each branch carries the same 4-pin assignment, so a single PLC card or distribution box can feed two sensors through one cable, reducing cabinet wiring.

Construction and Materials

Trunk cable and two branch cables share the same 4 x 0.34 mm2 (22 AWG) stranded copper conductor bundle with PVC or PUR jacket. The injection-moulded Y-block sits inside a TPE overmould so the splice stays sealed to IP67 when mated. Pin assignment follows IEC 61076-2-101 A-coded 4-pin layout: pin 1 brown (power +), pin 2 white (signal), pin 3 blue (power -), pin 4 black (signal).

  • Pairing two 24 V DC proximity sensors, photoelectric sensors or valve solenoids into one M12 port on a remote I/O block or sensor hub; splitting one controller output into two actuator coils; doubling device density in a machine cell without running a second trunk cable back to the cabinet.

Compatibility and Fitment

Mates with any IEC 61076-2-101 A-coded 4-pin M12 socket. Not compatible with B-coded PROFIBUS, D-coded Ethernet, X-coded Cat6A or T/L-coded M12 Power sockets. For sensor-only signal wiring; not suitable for analogue 4-20 mA loops on shared trunks where shielding is required.
