Dual-Port USB 3.0 Panel Flush-Mount Extension Cable (2x Type-A Female, 5 Gbps, 1 m)

A dual port usb flush mount cable that puts two USB 3.0 Type-A sockets on a dashboard, console or bench panel, with screws and cap supplied.

Description

Overview

A dual port usb flush mount cable puts two USB 3.0 Type-A sockets on a flat surface: a dashboard, a console, a bench or a rack panel. The host end is a single USB 3.0 Type-A plug that goes into the head unit, the marine audio system or the PC, and the panel end is a square bezel carrying both sockets. One cable, two ports, no adapters hanging out of the dash.

Where a flush mount beats a bracket

There are two ways to add ports to a panel, and the choice depends on what the surface is made of and how much depth there is behind it:

ApproachNeeds behind the panelLooks likeBest for
Square flush bezelBezel depth plus cable bendA factory-fitted portDashboards, consoles, machine panels
Bracket mountSpace for the bracket and screwsAn added accessoryRetrofits where a cutout is not possible
Cable grommet onlyAlmost nothingA loose leadTemporary or test installations

Flush mounting needs a clean rectangular cutout. If you cannot cut the panel, a bracket mount is the honest answer, and we build both.

Planning the cutout

  • Cutout is about 83 x 25 mm on the square bezel. Confirm it against the drawing before you cut.
  • Panel thickness decides whether the bezel sits flush or stands proud.
  • Depth behind the panel has to take the socket bodies plus the cable bend radius.
  • Cut cleanly and de-burr. A rough edge stops the bezel seating and lets water behind it.
  • Check what is behind the panel first. On a vehicle dash that is often the airbag or a wiring loom.

Cutout dimensions above are for the standard bezel and are quoted per order. Your assembly is built and verified to the dimensions on your drawing.

The interface is standard USB, so anything that works on a desktop port works here, subject to what the host can actually supply.

Why single-port fittings get replaced

  • Not enough ports. The original fitting has one and the job has always needed two.
  • Charging current. A phone and a dash camera on one port is a constant argument.
  • Worn sockets. USB-A sockets have a rated number of insertion cycles and a dashboard port gets used several times a day.
  • Water and dust in an open socket on a boat or an ATV. This is what the protective cap is for.
  • Cable strain at the back of the bezel where the lead is not supported.

Fitting and verifying the panel

  1. Check what is behind the panel before you cut anything.
  2. Test-fit the bezel, then fix it with the supplied screws, evenly.
  3. Route the cable so it is not strained at the back of the bezel, and support it if the run is long.
  4. Plug the host end in and test both ports for data, not just for charging.
  5. Fit the protective cap and check it stays put. An open socket in a marine console is a corrosion problem waiting to happen.

Typical Applications for This Dual Port USB Flush Mount Cable

  • Car, truck and motorcycle dashboards for charging and data
  • Boat and marine consoles where an open socket corrodes
  • ATV, UTV and powersports dash panels
  • Workshop benches, test rigs and custom PC front panels
  • Control cabinets needing two service ports behind one cutout

How to specify your build

  1. Port types: USB 3.0 Type-A, or a mixed Type-A and Type-C bezel.
  2. Cable length from the host to the panel position.
  3. Cutout and panel thickness.
  4. Fixing: screws, or a bracket where a cutout is not possible.
  5. Cap and finish: matte black standard, other finishes to order.
  6. Marking or labeling for fleet builds.
  7. Quantity, and whether this is a prototype or a production order.

Workmanship and testing

Assembly and inspection follow IPC/WHMA-A-620 Class 3 workmanship criteria under our ISO 9001 quality management system, and every unit passes 100% continuity and pinout testing before it is packed. Conductor range is 32 to 12 AWG. Bezels get a fit check against the stated cutout on the production batch. Any figure quoted for the interface is the industry-standard value; your assembly is built and verified to the values on your drawing.

Every production run can ship with RoHS and REACH declarations and the electrical report agreed at quotation; see certifications and material declarations. UL styles and other named approvals are built to drawing: we source to the style you specify and document it, rather than asserting a listing we do not hold. Where this build needs an overmold, the tool is designed, cut and maintained in our own shop under in-house mold making and overmold tooling, and it is never used for another customer’s program. Custom builds and ordering

Dual-Port USB 3.0 Panel prototype lots start from 1 to 50 pcs and ship in 3 working days. Production requires 500 pcs and runs 14 working days after approval. Tooling not already held adds around 10 working days. Your part number and labeling go on OEM and ODM Dual-Port shipments, and we provide material certificates and first-article reports when asked.

Questions Before You Order

How big is the cutout?

About 83 x 25 mm for the square bezel. Confirm it against the drawing before you cut, and check what is behind the panel first.

Can I have USB-C instead?

Yes. Type-A, Type-C or one of each on the same bezel are all built to order.

Will both ports charge at the same time?

Both are connected; what they can deliver depends on what the host supplies. State the host on the order and we will confirm.

Is it waterproof?

The bezel is supplied with a protective cap for when the ports are not in use. For a sealed installation, ask about our waterproof panel builds.

What is the minimum order?

Dual-Port USB 3.0 Panel prototype lots start from 1 to 50 pcs and ship in 3 working days. Production requires 500 pcs and runs 14 working days after approval.
