Cat6 S/FTP IP67 Industrial Pigtail Patch Cord (Push-Pull Lock, Round & Flat)
A cat6 ip67 pigtail patch cord with a sealed push-pull locking connector on one end and a standard RJ45 on the other, in round or flat cable.
Overview
A cat6 ip67 pigtail patch cord is the half-measure that is usually the right measure: one end sealed and push-pull locking, the other end an ordinary RJ45. It is the build you want when the harsh environment stops at the panel wall — a sealed bulkhead out on the machine, a standard switch port safe inside the cabinet. Sealing both ends costs more and buys you nothing if one end never leaves the dry side.

Pigtail, or sealed on both ends?
The question is simply where the wet actually is. Map the two ends before you order, because the answer decides the cost.
| Sealed both ends | Pigtail, one sealed end | |
|---|---|---|
| Field end | Sealed push-pull | Sealed push-pull |
| Panel end | Sealed push-pull | Standard RJ45 |
| Needs a bulkhead coupler | No | Usually yes |
| Cost | Higher | Lower |
| Choose it when | Both ends are in the washdown or outdoor zone | One end is inside a dry cabinet |
| Watch out for | Two sealed shells to cap and maintain | The panel end is only as dry as the cabinet |
Where the field end lands on a panel rather than straight into a device, the usual companion is a sealed bulkhead feedthrough — our IP67 RJ45 panel coupler is built for exactly that, so the pigtail plugs into the outside of the cabinet and a normal patch cord takes over inside.
Whichever end stays sealed, the number belongs to that mated pair and not to the cable. Before fixing the class, the IP65 to IP69K test reference is worth a look, because it also covers what an open or capped port is and is not rated for.
Where the pigtail is the right build
- Machine-mounted cameras and sensors with a sealed connector at the tool
- Control cabinets where only the field side of the wall is exposed
- Outdoor enclosures feeding a switch mounted inside
- Retrofits: keep the existing RJ45 equipment, seal only the new run
- Test and service leads that have to plug into a wet machine
- Food and beverage lines where the device end changes but the panel does not
Round or flat cable
Round is the default and the better electrical build — the pairs keep their geometry and the shield stays uniform all the way round. Flat is offered where the cable has to run under a door, along a machine edge, or through a gap that a round jacket will not pass. If you need flat, say so at the order, because it changes the cable and the strain relief at the sealed end.
Jacket, shielding and the sealed joint
S/FTP construction — foil on each pair plus an overall braid — is the reason this cord behaves next to drives and welders, and it is the reason it behaves at all in an Industrial Ethernet panel. The seal has three places to fail: between the mating halves, where the cable enters the over-mold, and at the panel. PVC is fine for weather; PUR is the call for cutting oil and coolant. Which one you need goes on the order, and the rating your build is verified to is stated per order.
Typical applications for this cat6 ip67 pigtail patch cord
- Machine vision cameras with a sealed connector on the camera body
- Outdoor kiosks and weigh pads feeding an internal switch
- Washdown panels with an internal network rack
- Servo and drive cabinets with an Ethernet service port on the door
- Retrofit runs where the device is sealed but the switch is not — compare our Cat6A IP67 Industrial Pigtail with Dust Cap
How to specify your build
- Which end is sealed, and what the other end plugs into.
- Connector variant — read it off the existing part if you are replacing one.
- Length and the path, including the bulkhead.
- Cable form — round or flat.
- Jacket — PVC or PUR, and the exposure.
- Quantity, and whether you need dust caps.
Workmanship and testing
Terminations on Cat6 S/FTP IP67 Industrial builds run from 32 to 12 AWG, and the work is held to IPC/WHMA-A-620 Class 3 inside an ISO 9001 system. Every Cat6 unit is checked for 100% continuity and pinout before packing, and seal checking is quoted where the drawing calls up an ingress rating.
Material declarations against RoHS and REACH are issued per project, alongside the dimensional and electrical reports agreed at quotation; see certifications, compliance and material declarations. Where your drawing names a UL style or another approval, the build follows your drawing and ships with the supporting document rather than a claim of our own. Sealing follows the insert, gasket and overmold-bond method described under IP-rated sealing validation, so the rating comes from the joint design rather than from the connector datasheet alone. Custom builds and ordering
Pigtails are usually built to a panel builder’s part number and drawing. Prototype builds start from 1 to 50 pcs and ship in 3 working days; production orders start at MOQ 500 pcs and ship 14 working days after approval. New tooling adds about 10 working days, and we hold 100 sets of mold tooling in house. OEM and ODM builds ship under your part number and labeling, with material certificates and first-article reports on request. Factory audits and video line tours of our Longgang, Shenzhen plant can be arranged through Alan Kang.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I have the sealed end on either side?
Yes. Tell us which end is in the wet zone and we build it that way round.
Does the standard RJ45 end need sealing?
Not if it lives inside a dry cabinet. If there is any chance of water or condensation in there, seal both ends instead.
Is a bulkhead coupler included?
No, it is a separate part. We build both and they are designed to work together — order them as a pair.
Round or flat?
Round unless you have a physical reason. Flat is for gaps, not for performance.
