Cat5 RJ45 female Screw-Lock extension Patch Cable Both Ends Thumbscrew

RJ45 female Screw-Lock extension Patch Cable Both Ends Thumbscrew, A shielded Category 5 patch cord with thumbscrew locking on both plugs. Screwing the plug to the equipment on both ends turns an Ethernet drop into a mechanically fixed connection, which is what you want when the two devices do not sit still relative to each other: a camera on a moving bracket, a switch inside a cabinet mounted on a press, a control box on an AGV. The cable itself is S/FTP Category 5, so the locking arrangement costs nothing in bandwidth – it still carries 10GBASE-T to 250 MHz and PoE.

Description

Overview

A shielded Category 5 patch cord with thumbscrew locking on both plugs.

Construction and Materials

S/FTP construction: each of the four pairs is wrapped in aluminium foil, and a tinned copper braid covers the whole core. Metal connector shells bond to the braid at both ends so the shield stays continuous through the plugs. Conductors are 26 AWG stranded bare copper, which keeps the assembly flexible enough for routing in tight machine enclosures while still meeting Class EA return loss and crosstalk limits. The thumbscrews are captive in the moulded shell so they cannot be lost during installation, and the orientation is specified as horizontal or vertical to suit the receptacle layout on the equipment.

Typical Applications

  • Device-to-device Ethernet runs inside machines where both ends sit on vibrating structure.
  • Camera to switch links on packaging, printing and assembly equipment.
  • PoE-powered devices – cameras, access points, readers, LED fixtures – that must not drop out when the machine shakes.
  • Field service replacements for standard patch cords that keep working loose.
  • Test rigs and mobile carts that are moved and re-patched daily.

Compatibility and Fitment

Both plugs mate with standard RJ45 ports and additionally lock to any receptacle fitted with 4-40 UNC jackscrews. Wiring is straight through T568B. The cord is fully compatible with 10BASE-T, 100BASE-TX, 1000BASE-T and 10GBASE-T, and with PoE Type 1 through Type 4 per IEEE 802.3af, at and bt when the connected equipment supplies power. M3 thumbscrew hardware can be substituted for metric panels.

Custom Builds and Ordering

Length, jacket material, thumbscrew thread (4-40 UNC or M3), plug orientation and exit direction are all configurable. Common builds are listed in the attributes table above; everything else can be specified when requesting a quote. We do not publish a fixed list price because most screw-lock assemblies are quoted to a specific build. Lead time depends on length, quantity and connector tooling.

Packaging and Shipping

Each cable is individually bagged and labelled with part description, length and lot code. Bulk packaging is used for OEM volume orders. Shipments leave our facility within the lead time confirmed on the order acknowledgement.

Quality and Compliance

The 8P8C modular interface follows the IEC 60603-7 series. Channel performance is specified to ISO/IEC 11801 Class EA and TIA-568.2-D Category 6A, with 10GBASE-T defined by IEEE 802.3an and Power over Ethernet by IEEE 802.3af, 802.3at and 802.3bt. Sealed bulkhead builds are rated to IP67 per IEC 60529 in both the mated and capped condition. Material and compliance documentation (UL, CE, RoHS, REACH) is provided per build on request; figures that depend on a specific construction are stated on the build drawing rather than generalised here.
