Cat6A PUR High-Flex Patch Cord, S/FTP 26AWG, RJ45 to RJ45
A 10G Link That Survives the Factory Floor
Standard PVC patch leads work well in a wiring closet and fail early on a machine. This Cat6A PUR high-flex patch cord is specified for the second environment: automation cells, moving gantries, machine-vision camera drops, and 10GBASE-T device points that also draw power over the same four pairs. The jacket is chosen for resistance to oil, coolants, UV and hydrolysis, and the conductors are stranded rather than solid so the assembly tolerates repeated flexing instead of work-hardening and cracking.
It is the volume product in this category. If the installation is a clean indoor rack, a general-purpose Category 6A lead will cost less. If the cable runs across a machine frame, through a cable carrier, or past a washdown area, the PUR version is the one worth specifying.
Construction
- Conductors: 4 twisted pairs, 26 AWG stranded copper, 7-wire stranding
- Screen: S/FTP – foil around each pair plus an overall tinned-copper braid
- Jacket: polyurethane, oil-, UV- and hydrolysis-resistant
- Connectors: shielded die-cast RJ45 plugs, both ends, with moulded strain relief
- Wiring: T568B, straight-through
Bandwidth and Power
The assembly is built to Category 6A channel requirements, with a 500 MHz design bandwidth and 10GBASE-T operation over the patch lengths normally used at the machine. Category 6A itself is defined by ISO/IEC 11801 Class EA and TIA-568.2-D, and the fully screened construction is what makes the alien-crosstalk margins achievable when many leads are bundled together. Power is delivered alongside data under IEEE 802.3bt. Because a bundle of powered leads runs measurably warmer than a single cable, derating guidance for the filled tray or carrier should be confirmed before the installation is signed off, especially at the top end of the temperature range.
Installation Notes
- Keep the braid terminated to the plug shell at both ends; an ungrounded screen delivers little benefit at 10G.
- Respect the minimum bend radius when routing around machine frames. PUR recovers well, but repeated tight kinking damages the pair lay.
- Where a run has to sit alongside motor power conductors, keep separation and cross at right angles rather than running parallel.
Typical Applications
Factory automation cells, machine-vision camera drops, robotic workstations, AGV and AMR docking points, and enclosures sited where oil mist and daylight are both present. Standard and custom lengths, plus alternative jacket colours, can be quoted against a drawing or sample.
