USB-C to DisplayPort Cable for High Refresh Monitors
Most modern laptops no longer carry a full size video output, so the connection to an external monitor happens over a USB-C port running an alternate mode. That works well until the monitor demands more bandwidth than the lead in the bag can carry. This USB-C to DisplayPort cable is built for that boundary: a thin notebook or a dock on one end, a high refresh or high resolution display on the other, with the conversion handled by the cable rather than by a separate adapter that can work loose.
Two directions, one cable
The assembly is bi-directional, so the same lead will run a USB-C source to a DisplayPort monitor, or a DisplayPort output from a desktop into a USB-C monitor input. What to check before ordering
The cable is only one part of the chain. Confirm that the USB-C port on the laptop actually carries a video alternate mode rather than charging and data alone, because the connector looks identical either way. Then confirm what the monitor input is willing to accept at the refresh rate you want. If the port is recessed behind a monitor arm or a dock sits under the desk, tell us the distance, because the length is what decides whether a passive build will hold a stable link.
Build details
Contacts are gold plated on both ends to keep mating resistance stable across repeated plugging. The DisplayPort shell carries a latch with a release button, so the plug stays seated when a monitor is moved on its arm but still comes off cleanly without tools. The moulded strain relief at the USB-C end is reinforced, since that is the connector most often pulled sideways by a laptop being shifted on a desk.
