Description

Overview

This right angle screw lock cable moves a USB 3.0 port out of a crowded rear panel: a 90-degree Type-A plug feeds a panel-mount Type-A receptacle whose flanges take two fixing screws, holding the connection firm at 5 Gbps.

The 90-degree plug exits parallel to the chassis instead of sticking straight out of it, so a machine PC or kiosk can sit flush against a wall or inside a cabinet with its USB port still serviceable. On the other end, the receptacle mounts through a panel cutout and its flange is fixed with two screws; that screw-lock mounting turns the port into a panel feature that survives repeated plug-in cycles and cable tugs.

Key Specifications

The table below lists the configuration shown in the product photo.

Construction and Materials

Both connectors carry the blue tongue that identifies USB 3.0, and the assembly is built on shielded USB 3.0 wiring to hold signal integrity across the 5 Gbps link. The plug body is overmolded at the right-angle exit for strain relief, and the receptacle shell is a standard USB Type-A opening so any USB 3.0 or USB 2.0 Type-A device plugs into it.

Typical Applications

Typical installs include industrial PCs mounted with their rear panel facing a bracket, kiosk and vending machines that expose a service USB port behind a locked door, machine vision stations that park a license dongle inside the enclosure, and lab benches where the port is redirected from the back of a tower to the front of the bench.

Compatibility and Fitment

The assembly follows the USB 3.0 specification maintained by USB-IF and is backward compatible with USB 2.0 devices; the link runs at the highest speed both ends support. Check your panel cutout against the receptacle flange drawing before ordering.

Custom Builds and Ordering

Cable length and plug orientation are configurable, and panel-mount receptacles with different flange sizes are available in the same family. Send the enclosure drawing and we will match the cutout.

Packaging and Shipping

Each cable is bagged with the two flange screws included in the pouch.

Quality and Compliance

Every assembly is tested for all nine USB 3.0 conductors before packing, and the overmold joints are inspected for full strain-relief fill. See the USB-IF USB 3.0 specification for the governing interface specification.
