SPE Bulkhead Panel Connector for 10BASE-T1L Field Devices
An SPE bulkhead panel connector brings 10BASE-T1L single pair Ethernet and Power over Data Line into a field device box through one sealed penetration. IEC 63171-6 mating face or M8 coupling, front or rear mounting. The cut-out is smaller and the termination is faster than a four-pair Ethernet entry.
Specification table
These assemblies carry a device port out to a panel, bulkhead or enclosure wall, so the requirements are mechanical first: cutout size, thread, gasket compression and how much reach you need behind the panel. Sealing is quoted as a mated pair, never as a bare part.
| Parameter | Standard build | Available on request |
|---|---|---|
| Feedthrough interface | USB-C, RJ45 couplers, HDMI, M12 | USB4, D-Sub, NMEA 2000 Micro-C |
| Thread standard | M16 x 1.5, M21 x 1.5, D-series cutouts | 5/8 in push-pull and bayonet styles |
| Marine networks | NMEA 2000 Micro-C and OneNet builds | DeviceNet drop cables with T-adapters |
| Single pair | SPE bulkhead versions | 10BASE-T1L feeds |
| Panel thickness | 1 mm to 6 mm typical | Thicker panels and gasket stacks |
| Sealing | IP65 to IP68 with the supplied gasket | IP69K where the face is washed down |
| Housing | Nickel-plated brass | Stainless V4A, black powder coat, engineered plastic for cost-sensitive panels |
| Rear termination | Flying leads, IDC blocks | PCB pins, second connector, potted rears |
| Pigtail length | 0.15 m to 0.5 m typical | Up to 5 m terminated inside the enclosure |
| Marking | Printed part number | Laser marked series and orientation |
M12 circular feeds stay compliant with IEC 61076-2-101; USB and HDMI interfaces follow USB-IF and HDMI.
Typical applications
- Marine electronics NMEA 2000 networks where the bulkhead is the only access point.
- Medical carts and devices Sealed feeds through enclosure walls with stainless, cleanable front faces.
- Industrial enclosures RJ45 and USB feeds that keep the cabinet rating intact.
- Rail interiors EN 45545-2 compliant with approved materials.
- Test fixtures Rapid-change panel interfaces with labeled reaches.

Questions buyers ask
What cutout do I need?
The connector family decides it: M16 x 1.5 for most compact circular feeds, M21 x 1.5 for larger USB-based feeds, and D-series rectangular cutouts for the rest. Our panel mount connector guide covers threads, bayonet and push-pull options.
How long can an NMEA 2000 drop be?
The network sets the limit, not the cable; the bus budget is shared between all drops. We build to the length you specify and check the power budget against the device load. See NMEA 2000 drop cable selection.
Will drilling this panel break its rating?
A correctly gasketed feedthrough keeps the rating. We quote against the face material, panel thickness and gasket compression, and we will tell you when a chosen panel stock cannot hold the claimed IP code.
