14 AWG DC Barrel Pigtail Cable 5.5×2.1mm to Bare Wire or Ring Terminals
A Permanent Feed Instead of a Plug-In Adapter
Where a device never moves, a pigtail is tidier than a wall adapter and a coiled lead. One end of this assembly is a moulded 5.5×2.1mm barrel plug; the other end is stripped tinned copper, ready for a fused distribution panel, a battery post or a screw terminal block. The DC path stays DC from battery to device, which is how RV, marine and off-grid cabinets are normally wired.

- Off-grid solar boxes with a 12V or 24V battery bus
- Test benches and racks that need a repeatable DC lead rather than an adapter
Conductor and Termination Options
The standard build is 14 AWG red and black, which handles the current most compact terminals and network gear draw while still fitting under a panel screw. The conductor is stranded and tinned, so it crimps cleanly and does not wick corrosion under the insulation in a humid bilge or an outdoor enclosure. Stock lengths are 1 m and 3 m; both can be supplied with the free end terminated to M6 or M8 ring terminals, or with an inline fuse holder fitted close to the supply end.
Sizing the Run
On a 12 V system the limiting factor is usually voltage drop rather than the current rating of the wire. At 14 AWG the stock lengths stay usable for typical loads, but a long cabin run at high current needs a heavier gauge or a supply moved closer to the load. Send us the load current and the one-way distance and we will size the conductor before you commit to a build.
