Run Starlink Mini Straight From 12/24 V DC

Starlink Mini ships with an AC adapter. In a car, truck, RV or boat that means an inverter: DC goes up to 230/110 V AC, then back down to DC inside the dish power supply. Every conversion loses power as heat, and the inverter adds a failure point you do not need. This cable removes both steps. It takes the 12 V or 24 V already available at a cigarette lighter socket and feeds the dish directly through its DC barrel input.

The plug on the dish end is a moulded DC 5.5 x 2.1 mm barrel with a sealing gasket at the collar, and the socket end is a standard automotive lighter plug with a replaceable blade fuse inside the tip. Pull the tip apart to change the fuse – no tooling and no cutting.

Compatibility

This cable is built for Starlink Mini only – the unit with a DC barrel input, not the larger rectangular dishes. It is not compatible with Starlink Gen 2, Gen 3 or Flat High Performance dishes, which use a proprietary plug and a different voltage range. Check your dish before ordering: if the power port on your unit is a round barrel, this is the right cable.

Specifications

Conductor 18 AWG tinned copper for 3 m and 5 m builds, 16 AWG for 10 m to hold voltage drop down over the longer run. Jacket rated -40 to +105 ℃. Lighter plug with 10-15 A replaceable blade fuse and an LED power indicator on request. Centre-positive DC barrel, sealed collar. Polarity and fuse rating are confirmed per build – tell us the socket and run length and we size the conductor.

Passenger cars and pickup trucks running Starlink Mini from the dash socket; RV and camper van 12 V systems; truck cabs on long-haul routes; boat and marine 12 V panels where an inverter is impractical. Build Options and Ordering

Length, conductor size, fuse rating, LED indicator, jacket colour and the print on the cable jacket can all be specified. Moulded strain reliefs and the barrel plug body are tooled in-house, so a different overmould shape or a right-angle barrel is a tooling change rather than a new supplier. Samples ship before production; first-article dimensions and a continuity report come with the sample.
