Cat6A Shielded Patch Cord – S/FTP 26AWG, 500 MHz, 10G

Description

Shielded Cat6A for 10G Patch Runs

Cat6A is the classification the category system defines for 10GBASE-T over the full 100 m channel, and the S/FTP construction handles noise from drives, LED lighting and dense cable bundles far better than an unshielded patch. For a 10G uplink running through a noisy environment, the shield is what keeps the link up.

Construction

Four individually foiled pairs – S/FTP – inside an overall tinned copper braid. The pair foil limits crosstalk between pairs; the braid handles external noise and gives the shield a low-impedance path to the connector shell. Conductors are 26 AWG stranded, which is what makes the cable flexible enough for patch leads and frequent re-racks; solid conductor Cat6A belongs in permanent links, not patch leads.

Specifications

4 x 2 x 26/7 S/FTP, 500 MHz, RJ45 plugs, TIA-568.2-D and ISO/IEC 11801 Class EA channel components, RoHS and REACH compliant. 10GBASE-T to 100 m and PoE+ (IEEE 802.3at) are supported by the construction – the actual reach your installation gets depends on the whole channel, not this cable alone.

Typical Applications

10G patch runs between switch and patch panel in noisy cabinets, server rooms with dense cabling, AV racks, Wi-Fi 7 access point cabinets, and any installation where a Cat6 link has started showing errors after a drive or LED driver was added nearby.

Build Options and Ordering

Length, jacket colour, print legend, and packaging are all specifiable. Standard lengths in stock; custom lengths on request. We can also supply the cable with pre-terminated M12 X-coded ends for industrial patch panels, or as a longer pigtail for cabinet-to-cabinet runs. Samples and a full channel test report are available before any production run is committed.
