Overview

HDMI Type E automotive cable with a locking Type-E male plug on each end. Type-E is the HDMI form factor designed for the in-vehicle environment, with a locking tab that prevents the cable from vibrating loose and a housing that tolerates the temperature swings inside a car.

Key Specifications

Connector A HDMI Type-E (Automotive) male, locking tab, 19 pin
Connector B HDMI Type-E (Automotive) male, locking tab, 19 pin
Cable Length Custom on request (typical 1–5 m)
Jacket Black PVC
Application In-vehicle infotainment, head unit to rear-seat display

Construction and Materials

Moulded HDMI Type-E male connectors at each end, each with a locking tab and a black overmould. The connector body is keyed so the plug only mates in one orientation, eliminating mis-connection. Inside the black PVC jacket are the standard 19 HDMI signal conductors plus shielding; the cable assembly shown is 3 m end-to-end.

Typical Applications

In-vehicle infotainment: head unit to dashboard display, head unit to rear-seat entertainment screen, head unit to roof-mounted monitor in shuttle and coach applications, and any other in-cabin HDMI run where ordinary consumer HDMI would vibrate loose.

Compatibility and Fitment

Standard HDMI Type-E sockets as defined in the HDMI specification. Type-E is mechanically distinct from Type-A, Type-C and Type-D — adapters exist but should be avoided in a moving vehicle because they remove the locking feature. Confirm the receiving device is a true Type-E socket, not Mini or Micro HDMI.

Custom Builds and Ordering

Cable length, jacket colour, connector orientation, and pinout can be tailored to your build. Contact our sales team for OEM / ODM lead times, MOQ, and custom connector combinations on this audio video cable line. We support low-volume prototypes and high-volume production runs with consistent batch testing on every shipment, and can match the connector housing colour to your brand if requested.

Packaging and Shipping

Each audio video cable is bulk-packed in PE bags and shipped in export cartons. Standard packaging fits courier pallets; custom retail blister packs, header cards, and private-label boxes are available on request. Lead time for stocked items is typically 3–7 days; custom builds 2–4 weeks depending on quantity.

Quality and Compliance

Every assembly is continuity-tested and visually inspected before dispatch. Our manufacturing partners hold ISO 9001 quality systems; specific regulatory approvals (UL, CE, RoHS, REACH) for finished assemblies depend on the chosen jacket material and connector brand — please confirm requirements when requesting a quote.
