Last updated: 7 September 2026
Overview
Micro-miniature and nano-miniature military cable assembly built around the MIL-DTL-83513 Micro-D and MIL-DTL-32139 Nano-D connector families. The cable carries the high-density signal lines required for avionics, missile and rugged sensor wiring in a compact, shielded bundle with a low-profile overmould.

Construction and Materials
The cable uses stranded copper conductors at 26 AWG (Micro-D) or 32 AWG (Nano-D) per the connector’s contact rating, twisted in pairs and wrapped in an overall foil + braid shield with drain wire. The jacket is a military-grade polyurethane or FEP compound. The Micro-D and Nano-D metal back-shells are machined aluminum with a screw-latch locking system, and the whole assembly is over-moulded with a low-profile TPE or polyurethane boot at the back-shell exit.
Typical Applications
- Avionics LRUs and missile guidance electronics
- Rugged sensor wiring and instrumentation on military platforms
- Drones and unmanned systems where weight and density matter
- Industrial applications needing the Micro-D or Nano-D contact system in a non-military environment
Compatibility and Fitment
Mates with any MIL-DTL-83513 Micro-D or MIL-DTL-32139 Nano-D receptacle of the same contact count and gender. The Micro-D and Nano-D families are not interchangeable – the pitch and contact size are different.
Custom Builds and Ordering
Contact count, contact gender, wire gauge, jacket material, jacket color, label print and length are all configurable. Sample 10 to 15 working days, production 20 to 30 working days.
Packaging and Shipping
Each cable individually wrapped, foam-padded and packed in a cardboard tube or wooden crate depending on length.
Quality and Compliance
Connector family qualified to MIL-DTL-83513 (Micro-D) or MIL-DTL-32139 (Nano-D). Cable assembly tested for continuity, hipot and insulation resistance. RoHS 2.0 compliance on file. Ingress protection is rated per <a href=”https://www.iec.ch” rel=”nofollow noopener” target=”_blank”>IEC 60529</a> and environmental robustness is screened per the <a href=”https://www.iec.ch” rel=”nofollow noopener” target=”_blank”>IEC 60068-2</a> series. The MIL-DTL shell standards quoted above are public US defence specifications.
